Local Color Opening a BLAST!

Thank you to everyone who made it out to the opening of Local Color: The new works of T.Scott Stromberg. We had a great turnout! This was the first opening that I have ever incorporated a live jazz performance. Thanks go out to Robert Leahey and his wonderful band for highlighting the evening with a night of jazz. You guys were awesome! Another big thank you to Miss Valerie Voges and the peeps at Uncle Julios for providing such a wonderful spread of food. You guys rock! Last and not least a big thank you to Richard Oldham, Jessica Weiss, the Frisco Public Arts Commission, and all those in city government who made this show possible. The new hanging system in the city hall is phenomenal. Not only does the art look great but hanging it on this system was a breeze.

It was great seeing old and new friends and family at the show.  It couldn’t have been a success without all of your continued support. The city informed me that they would like to extend the show for an extra month. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out then there is still plenty of time. I know several of you voiced interest in purchasing some f the pieces in the show…don’t be shy! Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you still have an interest. Don’t forget Father’s Day is just around the corner.

abstracthought?

Well I am finally getting around to creating my own blog. That means I’m going to have to find time to write about things I care about. To be honest that is a pretty big list but I will try my best to relate my comments to Art and Design (which in themselves are a pretty extensive content list).

So a little about myself…By day I am a practicing Information Architect/UX Designer with a wonderful little company called EMC and more specificly the 404 Experience Design Group. It’s funny how many blank and glassy-eyed stares you get when you tell people that you are an Information Architect and a UX Designer (stands for User Experience Designer). I often will go into the diatribe that as an IA/UXD I design the logical and user-friendly path that information should flow through a software application. Huh? So I will often try another route…I design the screens in an application so that the application is easy to use. This will often spawn multiple conversations on all the software the person is using in their daily life that sucks. Instant job satisfaction until…”So you design Website? I need a Website…”.

My second profession is that of a painter. No, not of houses, but of fine art. Although if you are at this site then you have probably have been to my personal Website (www.tscottstromberg.com) and you have been able to view my life’s passion. I love painting! It is the one thing in life that is totally mine. It is a safe place where I can explore my inner-thoughts and creativity without the direction of others, without compromise. It is through spirituality and painting that I deal with the pressures of life. It is my Eden.

So, please stop by again. This is an open invitation to participate in my professional and private life. Feel free to comment, discuss, and question anything you see or read on this site because that’s why I made it. I look forward to hearing from you all.
